Journeys Art Festival: Celebrating Creative Paths to Peace

Journeys mural piece

This May 18th, a new art event will bring together regional arts and crafts, live music, workshops and more—and Portland is invited!

Journeys Art Festival, a benefit for Sisters Of The Road, will take place at the Armory in Portland (128 NW 11th Avenue), from 10am to 5pm. At Journeys, we’ll have spectacular art and learn together about the connections between social justice and creativity.

Keynote speakers include author, playwright and journalist S. Renee Mitchell and Sisters’ Board President, David Nail.

Artists from the Oregon Women’s Caucus for Art, Geezer Gallery, members of the Sisters Of The Road community, Open Door Gallery and others will display and sell their handmade artwork, and all artists are generously donating 40% of the proceeds of their sales to Sisters Of The Road.

‘Like’ the Journeys facebook page to see some of the great art that will be on display, and get all the latest Journeys news! It’s at facebook.com/journeysartfestival. To download a postcard to print and share, click here!

Workshop facilitators include Joseph Quinones, artist and retired coordinator of diversity education for the City of Portland, Ibrahim Mubarak, co-founder of Dignity Village and Right 2 Survive, and others.
